New 2021 BMW X6 for Sale in Tacoma, WA

The BMW X6 was the first SUV to adopt a sloping, coupe-like roofline that brought a new level of sportiness to the segment, and it's fair to say there are plenty out there who thought it wouldn't work. The naysayers couldn't have been wrong and the X6 has been a big hit with customers the world over, and it's still very much model to beat in its class as more and more rivals try to imitate its style and talent.

If you want a midsize luxury SUV that will turn heads in Seattle, Olympia, Gig Harbor, or anywhere else for that matter, take a close look at the trend-setting 2021 BMW X6.

A triumphant trio

There are three versions of the BMW X6 available to choose between right now, or four if you don't consider the X6 M to a separate model in its own right from the M Division. Although it's laughable to call such an exceptional vehicle an "entry-level" model, the first version of the X6 in the 2021 lineup is the X6 sDrive40i. The version in the middle of the standard X6 lineup is the X6 xDrive40i and the trio is completed by the X6 M50i.

The unashamedly sporty nature of the X6 is emphasized by the fact not all models are all-wheel-drive. The sDrive40i is a rear-drive model in the truest traditions of BMW's "Ultimate Driving Machine" philosophy, so if you want to do a burnout before leaving McKinley Park to head out on Interstate 5 you do have that capability here.

As for the exterior styling of the X6, it really does speak for itself. While most vehicles probably look their best from the front or a front three-quarter view, the X6 probably looks its best from the rear. It's hard to believe that one styling feature could make so much difference, but seeing really is believing here.

All the SAV performance you need

Both the sDrive40i and xDrive40i versions of the X6 utilize a 3.0-liter turbo-six powerplant that develops 331 horsepower and 330 lb.-ft. of torque, which is sent to the rear or all four of the BMW's wheels through an eight-speed Sport Automatic transmission with Drivelogic, Sport and Manual shift modes. You also get steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters and Launch Control, but there's even more to this particular powertrain.

This turbo-six is also part of a 48V mild-hybrid system that includes an auto stop/start function, an active kidney front grille and Brake Energy Regeneration to help make the X6 more economical but without sacrificing performance.

If you choose to go all the way to the X6 M50i you'll then have the pleasure of BMW's awesome 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8, which then puts a very serious 523 horsepower and 552 lb.-ft. of torque at the X6's

2021 BMW X6 Features and Equipment

All boxes checked, and then some!

It's hard to think of features you could reasonably argue are missing from even the sDrive40i standard specification of the 2021 BMW X6, never mind the M50i. It would certainly be quicker to list what it doesn't have than it would be to cover the full list of X6 standard features.

Highlights of the standard equipment list include Vernasca leather upholstery, Fineline stripe brown high-gloss wood trim, 20inch V-spoke alloy wheels with all-season run-flat tires, an automatic panoramic moonroof, a power tailgate, 16-way power front sport seats and 3-stage heated front seats.

Infotainment is obviously incredibly important to many buyers, and once again, it's hard to criticize what you find here. As well as one of the very best systems around with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, HD Radio, SiriusXM and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, you also get remote software upgrades, wireless device charging, BMW ConnectedDrive Services and BMW TeleServices.
